About the Team
Meet Roberta, Ariana, Andrea, and Nailea.
We want to be the first female athletes to represent our community and our club, TriLatino Juniors, at this year's USA Triathlon National Championship in Milwaukee, WI.
Triathlon requires hours of dedication, patience, persistence, consistency, overall discipline and passion for what we do. We train 5-6 days a week covering swim, bike and run. We love the supportive atmosphere and the feeling of accomplishment we get when we cross the finish line. By going to Nationals, we hope to inspire others to do this because not many people are brave or motivated enough to do this sport.
TriLatino’s mission is to increase diversity in triathlon and endurance sports by promoting healthy lifestyles and uplifting our communities. The Juniors’ program
allows teens of all backgrounds the opportunity to learn how to swim, bike and run and to participate in a triathlon for free. Our training is 100 percent funded and a source of pride for those within the endurance community and beyond.
The Ask
When we started, we didn’t anticipate making it to Nationals during our first season! Learning how to swim, bike and run was our focus, but now we have a bigger finish line to cross… the USA Triathlon National Championships. It is a pretty big deal and an investment. We need your help getting there.
Here is what your donation will cover:
Training Program Fees
Travel and lodging
Bike transport
Entry fees
Gear and equipment
Our Stories
Roberta: A year ago, I didn't know how to swim or bike. Now I exercise way more and I have learned more about healthier lifestyle. I love feeling part of a team. We always support each other, and my teammates help me to push my limits and step out of my comfort zone. You can do anything in the world because when you dedicate yourself, you can achieve it.
Nailea: Triathlon helps me to escape my everyday life. I have much better social skills now and because of all the training it also teaches me time management. Thanks TriLatino, we have an opportunity to grow and discover new places. Going to another part of the country for a triathlon is empowering for me.
Andrea: This sport helped me gain a lot of confidence and helped me feel better about myself. I don't feel like it's competitive out there, it's me vs me. I love how supportive everyone is, both within the team and regular people out there.
Ariana: Training and triathlon has helped me emotionally get through personal obstacles. This time has taught me how to focus on what is in front of me. I love that feeling of accomplishment when we cross the finish line. Going to the Nationals feels like a dream..
We also accept used racing bikes and wetsuit donations via our website: https://www.trilatino.org/trilatino-junior-team. TriLatino is 501c3 and all donations are tax-deductible and will go to directly the TriLatino Juniors Program.
