HELP us get Todd Mulkey out of China

Hi, my name is Kathy Dezern, and I am fundraising for friends that we call family--the Mulkey's. Todd Mulkey is the son of Jim and Lanelle Mulkey (both Ministers in the state of Tennessee). Todd moved to China to teach English as a second language but later became involved in establishing new restaurants. On January 26, 2022, Jim and Lanelle were notified that Todd had been in a terrible motorcycle accident with extensive head trauma. Specifically, he sustained multiple brain injuries, fractured C6 and C7 vertebrae, and numerous other fractures. Todd was placed on a ventilator while fighting lung infections. He is now breathing on his own and moving around. Todd is not aware enough to be discharged on his own, and there is no one to stay with him. So, it is critical that Todd get out of China and back to the U.S. with his family, where he can get the brain trauma rehabilitation (physical, psychological, and occupational) urgently needed.

The situation is even more complicated because of COVID. China will not allow his parents into the country to see him and bring him home. Getting Todd from China to the U.S. requires a medical escort (from China), which is extremely costly. The family has been told the cost is upwards of $60,000.

Between COVID and the language barrier--and having your child so far away and in desperate need of medical care, the family is reaching out to every avenue available for help.
