Help give our dad, Louis Tassiello, rest deserved

Hi my name is Jordan Tassiello. Today, June 15th, on my 26th birthday, my 18 year old brother and I lost our young, vibrant father who passed away after struggling in the ICU with multi-organ failure, his body deteriorating for 72 hours after he brutally hung himself from the rafters in the sun room that he built, to escape his abusive, destructive relationship.

My father, a hardworking, successful business man worked day in and day out diligently for 26 years to provide for his children and would give anyone the shirt off his back if they needed it. Bought me my first car and my brother his, traditions mattered to him, this was a man who found joy in providing for the ones he loved. A true artist, an entrepreneur who could build a mansion from two sticks and a hammer. He may have fussed a bit, smoked one too many cigs and cursed a ton, but Louis Tassiello was loved for who he was by everyone he met. He had a sarcastic wit, and his heart was gold and everyone knew when he was in the room. The life of the party, the man who can, the man who I called whether it was when I was in a car accident or just wanted to get a laugh, there wasn't a moment when I couldn't depend on him. The flooding of calls, texts and hundreds of people sharing their stories with my father is reminding me now as to how much he is loved.

My father struggled in the end to divorce his wife, pleading with her for weeks to sign the papers but was blackmailed to the point where he ended his own life to escape. His last text to her, sits on her phone as he let her know that he was going to find a way out of his marriage and he did just that moments later. I sat here for the last 72 hours, begging god, pleading and wondering why he would do this, why would he end his life over a woman who stabbed him, leaving him to bleed alone in the hospital? My father and grandfather, abused by this women, spent nights injured, in the emergency room, proving more and more as to WHY men need advocacy.

Why would a successful man end his life over a woman who refused to get a job just to buy a simple bottle of water for herself? Why end your valuable life that you worked so hard to build, raised two strong children, built an empire? My brother just started college, my father was so proud, so excited knowing the boy he raised was turning into a man. Why end your life for someone who laid in bed with other men everyday as you worked tiring hours to pay for the roof over her head? I do not have the answers, but I know my father thought he found his, leaving a trail of broken hearts, a mother losing her baby boy, two fatherless children and sadness behind.

I cannot despise the women or wish bad on her, because for the rest of her life she will sit knowing that she drove a good man to a terrible end. The weight of that knowledge will be a far greater impact and punishment than anyone could ever inflict on her.

I ask kindly, I beg that if you read this far, if you know someone struggling with domestic abuse, depression, suicidal thoughts, say something. I spent countless nights begging him to move in with me, begging him to get out of his situation but he was afraid. He ended his life right before the escape to safety, right before coming to spend my birthday with me. While his wife sits, clearing out his belongings as his soul ascends to heaven, we all sit here cherishing a man who meant much, much more than anything monetary. If you know someone in fear to leave their abuser, bring in authorities. Guide them to safety, please do something. If you cannot donate, please share and spread awareness for Suicide and Domestic Violence.

We are trying to raise $10,000 to give him the proper services to lay him to the rest he deserved surrounded by his family who loved him the most. We will be using funds for legal fees, medical, transportation, cremation services and support. If you can donate anything else helps. Thank you
