Honoring Carole Vowles: A Final Tribute to a Beloved Librarian and Friend❤️
I am reaching out to friends, family, and community members to help honor the life and legacy of Carole Vowles, who passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2024. Carole, born January 12, 1937, was one of Kings County’s greatest librarians. Throughout her life, she inspired countless minds, shared her passion for books, and made a lasting impact on those around her.
Carole and I shared a unique and deep bond. As her caregiver, I was privileged to be by her side and provide her with the love and support she deserved. Tragically, her last few weeks were marked by an unexpected and rapid decline, following her removal from the comfort of her home due to a hospice experience that fell short of our expectations. Carole’s passing in this way is a deep loss and one that has left me, as her closest friend, to fulfill her final wishes.
Carole had no living relatives, and her will was still in the process of being finalized. Now, it’s up to me to ensure she receives the respectful and heartfelt farewell she wanted. To help cover funeral expenses, I am organizing a Haunted Maze fundraiser in her honor, with all proceeds going directly to support her final arrangements. The Haunted Maze will be held at 766 Lincoln St., Hanford, CA, on October 28, October 30, and October 31, 2024.
How You Can Help:
• Donate: Any contribution, big or small, will help us reach our goal.
• Spread the Word: Sharing this page helps us bring together those who knew and appreciated Carole and others who want to support her memory.
• Attend Our Haunted Maze: Celebrate Carole’s life by joining us at the Haunted Maze fundraiser, where every entry fee will help us fulfill her final wishes.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity, support, and compassion during this challenging time. Your help in honoring Carole’s legacy means the world.
