Help us give Maks the funeral he deserves
Donation protected
Beautiful Maks, our brave little fighter, a 12-year-old local boy attending Calthorpe Park School, sadly lost his fight for life on 13th March 2022. Leaving his family and friends devasted and in shock.
Living in Fleet with his Mother, brother and sister, he has had a long history of heart surgery. Despite numerous trips to Birmingham Children's Hospital, many medical interventions and spending most of his childhood in and out of hospital. He remained happy throughout his painful, traumatic treatment and adored his family, particularly his mother, who worked tirelessly to provide for the family as a single parent. Always concerned more about their needs over his.
One in 100 children are born with a congenital heart defect. Maksymilian was one of those. HLHS or Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome is a severe congenital heart defect in which the left side of the heart is underdeveloped.
Maks was a fighter, a genuinely wonderful boy with a heart of gold and a sense of humour to match. Dedicated to care for him, his mother had to sacrifice her job as a teacher, leaving the family without income. After such a long battle, they are distraught and describe him as polite, cheeky, clever, and pure with a good heart. He loved Marvel and Lego.
We hope to support his family by taking the financial pressure off them whilst coming to terms with their traumatic loss. Enabling them to provide the funeral he deserves and celebrate the brave boy he was. Please help us pay tribute to this incredible young man and raise awareness for HLHS.
