Help us go to the World Championships!!!

On March 9, 2024, the Landmark Middle School Robotics Team, "The Cybots" (#16656), beat 56 other teams from around the state of Florida to win the FIRST Lego League (FLL) State Championship in West Palm Beach, Florida. By winning this prestigious award, the Cybots also won the opportunity to compete in the World Championship Tournament in Houston, Texas, taking place April 17 – 20, 2024.
Each year, the FIRST Lego League comes up with a challenge which involves students solving real-world problems using the engineering design process. This year, our students used art and technology to create a virtual reality escape room. This application allows students in our school’s SLA and PLA classrooms, along with their general education peers to learn and work collaboratively as they solved puzzles in virtual, international settings via an escape room. This project has allowed team members to share their love of gaming while also increasing awareness and empathy of others who may learn differently.
We are currently requesting donations to make this dream come true for seven amazing middle school team members along with two ambassadors from our SLA/PLA Community.
Currently, we have estimated our travel costs to be between $25,000 - $30,000 for event registration and required material kits, hotel rooms, car rental (2 mini vans), gas, food, production and shipping of uniforms for students and required chaperones (new shirt with team number and sponsors on back, sweatpants, hoodies, water bottles, and small vinyl backpack). Additionally, funds will be allotted to produce and print large-scale presentation and display materials associated with their Innovation Project, World of Wonders – We ALL Belong VR Escape Room. Lastly, we will need to purchase a VR headset to accompany the game the students have created.
ANY dollar amount is helpful to make our dream happen!
