Hi again! We’re Tamara and Cristina – lifelong readers, lovers of stories and culture, and co-owners of Cuentos y Café based out of Asheville, NC.

So….. We launched our first pop-up and it went great! We are beyond excited. Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to purchase the supplies and book inventory needed for our first event. Now we need to keep going. The community has showed us so much love and support and it feels like we can keep going. Cuentos y Café is a local multicultural, Latina women owned, independent book space that will be operating as a pop-up and online bookstore. Our vision is to create a space that highlights BIPOC and BIPOC LGBTQA+ authors, celebrating the richness of diverse cultures and experiences through our stories.

Help us raise funds to grow our pop-ups and put more diverse books into Asheville’s literary spaces. Our ultimate goal is to have a brick-and-mortar store that will provide a location for multigenerational readers who want a multicultural space in the community.

As a BIPOC centered bookstore, Cuentos y Café is committed to creating a safe and welcoming space where readers can find an assortment of books across genres that include small independent presses, classics, multilingual books, and works by emerging authors.

All GoFundMe donations will go toward the costs for our pop-ups to ensure that we bring you the best selection of carefully curated books!
