Help Us Heal Colleen--A Nurse In Need
Donation protected
Our dear friend and loved Colleen Rossa-Perez has been a nurse for 10 years and has dedicated her life to helping heal others but now she needs our help on her journey to healing.
Colleen's story is one of many ups and downs but never-ending positivity and strength. Our sweet Colleen is a wife, mother of two beautiful children and a nurse. She has spent her life helping family, friends and strangers through her work as a nurse. Unfortunately, out of the blue her world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) four years ago. At that time she was able to fight utilizing chemotherapy, radiation and she had a lumpectomy--that therapy worked and she was blessed to be able to enter into remission.
Not long into Colleen's remission she received the gut wrenching news that her cancer was back. Again with her positivity she knew she would fight and win. For her second time battling cancer, Colleen endured chemotherapy, immune therapy and major breast surgery. Never did she miss a step, she continued healing, working full time and being an awesome Mom and wife throughout her journey.
We all were so excited for Colleen in this next chapter hoping this was it, that she was finally done fighting so hard to stay on top of this terrible diagnosis. However, yet again, her strength was tested a third time as she was notified her cancer was back with even worse news--the cancer had also made it's way into her lung. Still, this was not enough for Colleen or her support system to throw in the towel, she rallied and continued the good fight. Her treatment this time included chemotherapy, immune therapy and radiation, but before she could even make it to radiation she had scary new symptoms including dizziness, nausea and difficulty seeing. Immediately, she was sent for a thorough check up which revealed the catastrophic news that her cancer had again spread but this time to her brain.
Colleen has fought endlessly and with determination to remain positive with the support of her friends and family never asking for help along the way. She has worked full time and has only taken one short leave during her major breast surgery but has continued working throughout this whole ordeal tirelessly caring for others.
Unfortunately, this time around has taken quite a toll on Colleen and she needs our help. Right now, Colleen is hospitalized to continue the rest of her treatment. She is now indefinitely out of work, without income or childcare which leaves the financial, emotional and physical burden on her husband Jose.
Our goal with this Go Fund Me is to at least take the financial burden off of the Perez family so they can focus on what matters most: healing, being together as a family and working toward restored health.
Thank you so much for reading Colleen's story. If you are able to donate, thank you in advance as every little bit helps. Please keep the Perez family in your prayers.
