The Barbu family is without water and food!
They are doing all they can to find seasonal work to feed a family of 12. Currently living in a small town in Italy, they have not been able to work due to COVID-19 and other economic factors. Their home has no indoor plumbing or running water. The parents, siblings, nieces and nephews of Belle Barbu who was trafficked from a Romanian hospital to an orphanage, are in need. After being taken from the hospital, Belle remained in Romania for two years until her adoption and travel to the United States. What an amazing day that was!!
On a recent call to Italy, we spoke with Belle's birth family to gather more pieces of the trafficking story. Her Romanian mother and sister, though extremely hesitant to let us know the details of their living conditions, (we used some detective skills to find out how they are doing during this pandemic) revealed enough to alarm us. Through translation some questions were asked, "Did you eat today?" No response. "Are you able to get water? No response. We did learn that Belle's mother had just put the little ones to bed and that they (at least) had eaten "dinner". We read between the lines. Calls were made...and our team rallied! We need your help to get some supplies and water to this sweet and humble family!
