Help Us HELP Donnie Brown

Donation protected

My brother Donnie Brown has been in ICU four times along with extended hospital stays, since a severe head injury due to a fall this past New Years Eve. He hit the front of his head on a cement paver.
At this point he is again in the hospital and has just barely opened his eyes after almost three weeks of being totally non-responsive.  Four days ago when he opened his eyes I felt it was a miracle.
He is in the hospital in Jackson, Mississippi and will need  months of intensive care just to acknowledge someone is there with him. Then we expect many months of therapy for him to be able to walk.
Medicare will only pay so much  on his medical costs.   We want him to have the best care available.
I have been appointed his medical Power of Attorney and his Medicare legal representative.  I will be responsible for anything  that his Medicare doesn't pay.
As many of you know I am a 'Starving Artist' myself.
I live in Montgomery, Alabama and have been  with Donnie since the beginning of this, but I do need to go home occasionally.  I'm sure you know how traveling, lodging and food costs can easily go beyond a person's means.
And now for the story of my talented brother:
Donnie was and possibly can be again one of the most awesome bass players to ever come out of the south, much less the Delta. He started playing bass guitar when he was 12 years old.
         Jerry.     Bud Cockrell.  Donnie.
He and our brother Jerry Brown , an amazing lead  guitar player, formed a band. Jerry and Donnie had a group in the  Seventies called 'The Candy Shoestring'.

There were many band members that came and went. During this time their band opened for many well know groups, Lynyrd Skynyrd being one of the earliest.
After our  brother Jerry left the band due to ill health,  Donnie continued to play bass guitar with many local and well known artists. He has been honored with a stone on the Walnut St. Blues Walk in downtown Greenville.

You can see  more photos of Donnie playing bass guitar on the Facebook page titled Candy Shoestring #Candy Shoestring.
I also need help with travel expenses
which would allow me to stay close to the hospital until I know he is on his way  to a full recovery.
Keep him in your prayers
Please  help.❤️
Thank you so much.
