Help us Help Lewis

On July 26, Lewis Higgins was struck by a truck while riding his bike near his home in Iosco Township, MI at the intersection of Munsell & Bull Run Rd. Shortly after the accident, the driver of the white Ford F-150 pickup fled the scene. Lewis is currently hospitalized in the University of Michigan Medical Center with life-threatening injuries including, but not limited to, broken bones in his feet/legs, a fractured pelvis, and his socket is fractured. 

Lewis is going to have a long recovery ahead of him and we are looking to help him and his family through this incredibly difficult time. We are hoping to help ease the medical expenses and rehab cost that is going to result from this accident. 

Please not only share this story to help financially, but also help find the driver that hit Lewis and fled the scene. 

After witnesses spoke to the driver of the pick-up, it left the scene southbound on Bull Run Road. They also indicated the white F-150 pick-up had damage to the front passenger headlight area. The case is being investigated by the Livingston County Major Crash Team. We set the goal originally at $5,000 unsure and unaware of the reach this story would have. I am utterly amazed and thankful for how many have demonstrated such generosity. As we learn more, the reality of the financial burden this will become is daunting. I have raised the goal to 10k to more accurately reflect the long term recovery this will be.
