Help us help more animals and people

Donation protected
Hi,

My name is Nadia and my daughters name is Abigail. We live in the city of Rockingham.
We foster animals and support several women’s charity’s. I am also VP of my daughters school P&C.

We are a neurodiverse family with a love for animals and our community. Being in animal rescue as an animal foster Carer and commitee member we see first hand how animals and people are affected by the cost of living crisis. Families living out of cars. Local food pantries regularly running out of food. Animals being abandoned and surrendered at record rates.

Our first fundraising target has been met and funds raised and in process of doing all the paperwork to register our charity Unicorn Village. A board has been formed with a fantastic team with great experience and a passion to help our community.

This year we aim to raise enough funds to purchase property around the Baldivis/Karnup rural area where we can expand our charitable endeavors. We are focusing on these 3 areas that are most needed in our local community.

1. Fostering and rehoming more animals
2. Setting up medium stay low cost accommodation to help families get back on their feet.
3. Grow fresh seasonal food to donate to local food pantries.

1. We aim to foster more animals providing storage for donated animal food for families in need and more space for animals needing rehomed. Applying for grants for infrastructure to house more rescue animals. As there are so many animals being surrendered daily with no where to go. Charities in WA and across Australia are at capacity and there are no grants to get property to house more animals.
A large property is needed in a semi rural setting to be able to expand our charitable work.

2. (Subject to council approval and available grants) we would love to build and run medium stay accommodation for struggling family’s due to the rental crisis to help them get back on their feet.

3. We also want to use a section of the property for a social gardening group with the food being donated to local food pantries for struggling family’s so they have access to free fresh produce. 1 acre can produce upto 5 tones of fresh seasonal food a year. With a large property we would have the ability to supply food to so many families in need.

Every dollar raised goes towards a large property that has the room to set everything up. Anything over the amount required for property purchase will be used to set up the property to house more  animals, grow food and house families in need.
I will post our journey on instagram/Facebook for anyone that wants to follow our journey during and after donation with the property and what we use it for to help animals and people in need. Instagram handle Nadia_e_westbrook_creative

It’s the donation that will keep giving back to our community. Unicorn village will be run by members of our community for our local community in need.

Thank you for reading , please donate and share our gofundme campaign.
