Help our puppy Rex get his Mobility
Donation protected
Hello!
Rex is a 7 month old Caine Corso who was born with congenital deformation of his paw. He was born with seven toes, and sometime shortly after birth his carpal joint in the same paw collapsed. Rex spent the first several weeks of his life walking on the knuckle of his wrist.
After we adopted him we hoped physical therapy and a cast would be enough, but once we realized the problem with his carpal joint we knew it could only be solved with surgical intervention.
Our family's combined income is only a couple hundred dollars over the limit required to qualify for assistance with surgical bills, and none of the local Veterinary clinics accept payment plans.
What we need to help our dog is:
- Consultation with a Canine Orthopedic specialist
- Orthopedic surgery
- And the Physiotherapy that will follow
We have been told by several Veterinarians that it will cost between $5000-7500. This is where our figure comes from.
Why we Adopted a dog with a Pre-existing Condition
Our family has been breeding Caine Corso's for a couple years now. Due to Rex's condition, my Oma couldn't sell him, and refused to surrender him to a rescue. My Father offered to buy a different dog, as opposed to getting Rex for free, but my Oma would not allow it.
We are hopeful about giving Rex a future without pain. Thank you for any and all of your support!
