Please Help: White Hall Arts Academy Documentary

Donation protected
Regardless of background or means, all children possess potential to achieve. However, not all children are afforded the encouragement to dream big or given the opportunity to build self-confidence and be reassured of their own capabilities. The programs and instruction at White Hall Arts Academy are aimed at changing this.

White Hall Arts Academy is a performing arts organization offering high quality arts education in the creative desert of South LA. Currently, WHAA's community programs only cover musical instruction with limited seats due to capacity and instrumental availability.

I've known the founder of WHAA, Tanisha Hall, for close to 10 years since she was my very own instructor.  Throughout her career, she has managed programs at schools catering to homeless children, developed community programs for low income students, personally fostered several children, and has always been willing to take in anyone who needs help getting back on their feet.

Tanisha specifically opened the school in an area where poverty and gang violence is high. Her intention was to be easily accessible to youths in the neighborhood as a safe, productive, and motivational alternative for them to spend their time and energy.

Under her leadership and guidance, Tanisha has helped many students move on to successful careers in the music industry with some even competing on nationally recognized shows such as The Voice. Tanisha's dream is to be able to expand WHAA and offer a variety of arts education with a much larger capacity so no child is turned away.

------ What we're looking to achieve with this Go-Fund Me Project:

With over 7 years of experience working in the film industry on major productions, and several of my own short projects produced, we landed on the idea of promotion for WHAA by way of documentary.

Rather than raising money for a one time donation, together we're looking to use our unique resources and skills to capture the magic that occurs at WHAA. Through online circulation and by garnering attention of more powerful and influential individuals who attend various film festivals we are looking to raise awareness for WHAA. Increased attention means increased potential for grants, funding, donations–– which means increased opportunities for the program to grow long-term and support more children.

However, even short films are often costly to produce–– $15,000 is a very modest budget for a 15 min film. In lieu of cash, donated gear/equipment rental or volunteered time from professional crew would also be greatly appreciated!

We will included donor names in the credits as well. Thank you for your support, it truly means a lot!
