Help Us Help You: Water+Food 4 First Responders/ED
First responders and Emergency Department workers in New York City are struggling to keep up with the COVID-19 pandemic. They work tirelessly in 12+ hour shifts during which they do not have time to find food or even water to sustain themselves. We have to care for those caring for everyone in our communities.
We will be using this fund to buy bottled water and nutritious packaged foods such as protein bars, nuts, dried fruit, etc (suggestions welcomed!) to deliver to local Emergency Departments being hit the hardest by COVID-19. There they will be available to support ED staff and first responders/EMTs bringing in patients.
Our first deliveries — this weekend — will be to the Emergency Department at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, which is among the hardest hit hospitals in NYC, as publicized in a recent New York Times article.
We will continue this support to our front-line heroes as long as it is needed and feasible, and will adjust our goal $ and recipient hospitals as the situation evolves.
Stay in, stay safe, stay well and please give as generously as you can.
In solidarity and gratitude,

P.S. We are not accepting individual food/water donations or volunteer time for making packages to decrease risk of contamination. Care packages will be prepared using gloves and sanitizing wipes by two physicians. Thank you for understanding.
