We are the grandaughter's of Dalyce Curry, Lorée B and my sister Dalyce K on behalf of us, our children and of our siblings and their children, who are in utter shock and disbelief that Mamma D is gone we are putting out this request.

Our beloved grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Dalyce "Momma D" Curry, was a beacon of light and love in our lives. At 95 years young, she was full of vitality, elegance, and an unmatched zest for life. Her presence graced our family gatherings, her wisdom guided us through challenges, and her laughter brought joy to every moment. Tragically, we lost her in the devastating Eaton Fire that swept through Altadena, California.

We are heartbroken beyond words but committed to honoring her incredible life and legacy.

Why We Need Your Help

The loss of Momma D has left us reeling emotionally and financially. We are reaching out to our community for support to ensure she receives the dignified farewell she deserves. Mamma D did not have her "things in order" because she didn't think the end of her days wouldn't come for at least another 5 or more years! She was funny, spunky and lovely.

Funeral and Memorial Service Expenses: A celebration of her remarkable life, reflecting her grace and spirit, a "Going Home Celebration".

Travel Costs for Family: To bring together loved ones from across the country to say their goodbyes. (She has grandchildren and great grandchildren across the US) We would love to be able to be together to grieve and celebrate her life and legacy.

Memorialization: Establishing a lasting tribute to commemorate her legacy and vibrant life. (Some sort of headstone to honor her)

Support for Unexpected Expenses: Associated with this heartbreaking loss. (All the requirements for a service, burial, plot, etc.)

About Momma D

Momma D was more than just our grandmother—she was a cornerstone of her community. Known for her time in Old Black Hollywood, she was an extra in iconic films like The Ten Commandments, Blues Brothers, and Lady Sings the Blues. Her poise, charm, and elegance left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

She was known with her Kaiser community and was referred to as "Kaiser Famous" because they loved her energy, spirit and zest for life.

At 95, she was still living life to the fullest, taking pride in her independence and always looking forward to the future. She often said, "I have yet to begin to live." She was a dreamer, a doer, and above all, an amazing grandmother who inspired us with her strength, resilience and class.
