Help Us Honor Eleazar Baltazar's Memory

On January 14, 2025, my dad decided to take a shower that would ultimately end his life. As he was getting out of the tub, he slipped and fractured 4 ribs. I rushed him to the ER for treatment, and he was stable for a couple of days.

Things took a turn for the worse after he was transferred to the ICU. He developed a respiratory infection and had to get CPR as the medical staff could not feel a heartbeat. After they were able to bring him back, he was intubated and put on life support care. My dad fought hard to stay alive. Due to his compromised health conditions with his diabetes, my dad ultimately gave up his battle last night.

It’s so surreal that his decision to take a shower would lead him to lose his life. This is truly an unexpected and unimaginable heartbreak for us. We’re struggling to come to terms with the fact that he’s gone, taken far too soon at just 58 years old. He leaves behind 5 children and 6 grandchildren who loved him deeply. All we have now are the cherished memories of the time we shared with him, and those will stay with us forever.

In Loving Memory of Eleazar Baltazar

El 14 de enero de 2025, mi papá decidió darse una baño que finalmente acabaría con su vida. Al salir de la tina se resbaló y se fracturó 4 costillas. Lo llevó rápidamente a urgencias para recibir tratamiento y estuvo estable durante un par de días.

Las cosas empeoraron después de que lo trasladaron a la UCI. Desarrolló una infección respiratoria y tuvo que recibir reanimación cardiopulmonar porque el personal médico no podía sentir los latidos del corazón. Después de que pudieron traerlo de regreso, lo intubaron y le pusieron cuidados de soporte vital. Mi papá luchó duro para mantenerse con vida. Debido a sus comprometidas condiciones de salud debido a su diabetes, mi papá finalmente abandonó su batalla anoche.

Es tan surrealista que su decisión de darse un baño le llevaría a perder su vida. Esto es realmente un dolor inesperado e inimaginable para nosotros. Estamos luchando por aceptar el hecho de que se fue, se lo llevaron demasiado pronto, con sólo 58 años. Deja atrás a 5 hijos y 6 nietos que lo amaban profundamente. Todo lo que tenemos ahora son los preciados recuerdos del tiempo que compartimos con él, y permanecerán con nosotros para siempre.
