Help Us Honor Eulogio's Life

Donation protected
On Saturday, September 7th, 2024, our beloved father, Eulogio "Leo" de los Reyes, completed his journey in life. He was 66 years old, but to us, he was full of life, love, and wisdom that touched not just our family but everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Many knew him as "Leo" or affectionately as "Oyo." He was a man who brought light into every room, whether it was through his quiet strength or his infectious smile that appeared once you got past his composed exterior. Leo was the kind of person who made you feel heard and valued, no matter who you were. He embodied kindness and respect, offering both long before expecting them in return. For those who worked alongside him, Leo was a loyal, hardworking colleague, showing up even when dialysis treatments could have easily kept him away.

To his friends and family, especially those in the Philippines, he was much more. Oyo was a man who lived with integrity, always putting others first. Despite the challenges he faced, he remained a beacon of love, compassion, and resilience. He was a father to many—guiding us, inspiring us, and showing us how to live a life we can be proud of.

Now, we ask for your help to fulfill his final wish—to return home to the Philippines, to be laid to rest in the place he held dear. Though he left the Philippines in 1984 to build a life for his family in the United States, the longing for home never left his heart. Like so many first-generation immigrants, my parents sacrificed everything, leaving behind their homeland, culture, and loved ones in pursuit of the American dream. And though they built a beautiful life here, the Philippines was always where his heart was.

Our father’s journey was not without its challenges. An injury forced him to stop working, but rather than let it defeat him, he poured his energy into our family. Our home became a sanctuary of warmth and joy. Dad became a second father to our cousins, always offering his endless patience and wisdom, teaching us the importance of love, loyalty, and family.

Leo's legacy is one of love, strength, and selflessness. He stayed connected to his family in the Philippines from afar, always doing what he could, despite the physical distance. Now, we want to honor him by bringing him back to the place he always wanted to return to—the Philippines, where he can rest surrounded by the loved ones he left behind.

Your donation will help us with funeral expenses and fulfill our dad's final wish. If we receive more than what is needed, we will use the funds to support our family in the Philippines and contribute to the National Kidney Foundation in honor of Leo’s battle with End-Stage Renal Failure. This disease limited him in ways that were heartbreaking for us to witness, but it never diminished his spirit or love for life.

We hope you can join us in celebrating the life of this remarkable man. If he touched your life in any way, we’d love to hear your stories. Together, we can honor Leo’s memory and ensure his legacy lives on in the hearts of everyone he touched.

Thank you for your support and love during this difficult time.

With love and gratitude,
