Help us Honor Gary Detman
Donation protected
Gary Detman was a cherished friend and member of the CBS12 news team in West Palm Beach, FL. He died suddenly on April 27, 2023 just before going into work. Gary led the digital news team.
The funds raised will help cover the cost of Gary's Celebration of Life. Any donations that go above what the celebration costs will be donated to Love Serving Autism and the Sounds of Success Community Marching Band in Gary's name. Both causes were very dear to his heart.
He lifted so many spirits in and out of the newsroom. He was not only a dedicated co-worker, he was caring and always looking out for his team and friends. Gary was always going the extra mile for his community, attending events and charities, helping with fundraisers and beach cleanups. He left a mark on everyone he met. And he left this world far too soon. You can read more about Gary's life here.
On behalf of his partner Sany Collier, please help us remember him and donate to fund the memorial she is putting together at their home, where Gary enjoyed relaxing after work, in Wellington on Friday, June 2nd at 7:30 p.m. If you cannot attend in person, Sandy will livestream on the ceremony on her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/HeySandyPRTeam.
Sandy and Gary were a beautiful pair and shared many happy years together. He found the love of his life and it showed. Gary has a son, Andre who he loved immensely and was so proud of him. He is survived by his brother, Brian, sister, Michelle and mother Marlene. Gary also had enough love in his heart to be a father figure to Sandy's six children, which she raised on her own after her first husband's death. Gary became especially close to Sandy's son Raffie, who is living with Autism.
