It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Kimmy Talavera. Kimmy brought so much love and warmth into the lives of those who knew her with her bright smile and big heart. All those that Kimmy's life touched felt her sweetness, her thoughtfulness, her love. Kimmy had recently moved to Copperas Cove, Texas, where she was staying with Brenda and Scott.

As we navigate this incredibly difficult time, we are seeking your support to honor Kimmy's memory with a fitting memorial service. Your contributions will help us cover the costs associated with bringing Kimmy back home to Utah and funeral expenses. It is difficult during these times to remember all those who would want to know this very sad news. Please help us by also forwarding this request to those you think would want to know.

Kimmy was a cherished friend and family member - survived by her mother Brenda Diaz-Smith, father Scott Smith, her sister Ashlie Valdez, her grandma Hilda Soto, her aunt Blanca Soto as well as many other family members and friends. Her love of books and reading also saw her volunteering her time and passion helping up and coming authors in that community. As those who knew her best would tell you, she would give her last dollar to those who were in need. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, we are reaching out to our community to help us provide a heartfelt and meaningful farewell that truly reflects the wonderful person she was and to bring her back home.
