Greetings. My name is Andrew Montebello, and I am the big brother of Matthew Montebello.

On the night of November 15, 2024 -only days after his 21st birthday- me and my mom tragically lost him in an unimaginably violent and terrifying way. That night, there was a home invasion at where he was living, and he was shot in the head. Afterwards, the perpetrator then started a fire that nearly destroyed everything inside the house. Unconscious and barely alive, he was later put into a coma after being transported away from the crime scene by paramedics. In the following days, we anxiously waited and hoped for good news only to find out he wasn't coming back...

Matthew was a talented, smart, and -half jokingly, a more functional version of myself. While I've had close friends and relationships, nothing will ever come close to the bond I had with my little brother. My Dad, whom of which also passed away in 2018 raised us to look out for and love each other. His passing has been the most difficult thing me and my mom have ever had to endure by far.

While I myself always wanted to be a role model to him and for him to look up to me, many times I've found myself looking up to him both literally(he was taller than me) and figuratively. He always was eager to learn, and whenever he set his mind on learning something or picking up a skill, he would relentlessly obsess over it for months at a time until he either mastered it, or at least got familiar with it enough to get bored and move on to his next "phase".

We sincerely appreciate any donations, thoughts, prayers and/or any other support that you are willing to give to help us as we put him to rest. "Nothing is ever too small" -which was a phrase he himself emphasized; especially when it came to gifts. Please, don't be afraid to share this with friends, family, strangers, etc.
