Help Us Honor Our Beloved Father with a Beautiful Farewell

Dearest friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I first would like to start off by thanking you for visiting our father's campaign to raise funds to help cover the costs associated with his funeral and memorial services.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Joseph Timothy Duffy, known to many as "Tim." After nearly a decade-long battle with liver cirrhosis and its related complications, Tim passed away peacefully yesterday evening on August 21, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his devoted children Heather Duffy, Danielle Duffy, Lynda Chaney, and Chris Crowther, as well as his cherished grandchildren Jude & Addi Alexander and Olive Wossene. Tim was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose strength and support touched all who knew him. Our goal is to honor his memory with a farewell that reflects the incredible person he was.

Tim had a profound impact on everyone he met. His charisma, resilience, and unwavering support were sources of strength for many. As we mourn his loss, we wish to celebrate his life with a memorial that reflects the joy and love he brought into the world.

Last week, an unexpected infection led to lesions in my father’s brain stem, causing a rapid decline in his overall health. Despite his already serious condition, he remained a steadfast presence in each of our lives until this unforeseen complication accelerated his journey to its final stage. At 67 years old, he was celebrated for his work as a jeweler and later as a contractor, leaving a lasting impact on many with his unique spirit.

Sadly, the unexpected nature of his passing has left us unprepared to cover the financial costs of the funeral and memorial services. We are reaching out to friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals who knew our father or have been touched by his story to help us give him the farewell he deserves.

Together with my family, I, Danielle Duffy, have created this fundraiser to support the memorial and funeral services and to alleviate the financial burden we now face. The funds raised will go towards:

Any remaining funds will be donated to the American Liver Foundation in Tim’s memory to support research and advancements in the treatment of this devastating disease.
