Help Us Honor Rhonda, Braylon, and Hayden

On January 9, 2025, our family was devastated by the tragic loss of three beloved members: Rhonda Powell (40), her son Braylon (10), and her nephew Hayden (1). Their lives were tragically taken at their home in St. Helena Parish in an unimaginable act of violence.

The person accused of this tragedy is a family member who has a documented history of schizophrenia and was experiencing a mental health episode. Just the day before, he had been brought to a medical center for help and was prescribed new medication. Sadly, the support he needed came too late to prevent this heartbreaking outcome.

Adding to the family’s pain, the victim’s mother-who is usually at home and may have been able to intervene-was in the hospital awaiting heart surgery at the time of the incident.

Rhonda was a loving mother, sister, and friend who brought light to everyone around her. Braylon was a bright and joyful 10-year-old, full of potential and promise. Little Hayden, only one year old, was just beginning his journey in life.

We are raising funds to:

• Cover funeral and memorial expenses for Rhonda, Braylon, and Hayden.

• Provide counseling and emotional support for the grieving family.

• Assist with medical expenses for the victim’s mother as she continues to recover from heart surgery.

This tragedy has left our family broken, but we are leaning on faith and the support of our community. Your generosity will help us honor the lives of Rhonda, Braylon, and Hayden and provide some relief as we navigate this unimaginable loss.
