Help Us Honor Ricky's Memory

On August 24, 2024 Ricardo Resendez Jr. (we call him Ricky) was hit by an off duty police officer on his way to work. The officer was driving aggressively and was passing vehicles by driving in the opposite lane. Ricky was on his way home from work and while turning into his neighborhood he was struck by the officer's vehicle. He was only 1/2 a block away from home. The officer walked away with minor injuries while Ricky lost his life. Reporters have stated the officer has a history of unsafe driving.

Ricky was the kindest person you would ever meet, never bending the rules and always doing the right thing even when no one was watching. Ricky broke the mold by being unique, creative and unconditionally loving to his friends and family. He was only 28 years old with his whole life ahead of him. His family was robbed of the pleasure to see what was next. Ricky has a dog that he absolutely loved, 3 sisters and 2 parents who are grieving

We are all devastated by Ricky’s loss and we are not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. We want to give Ricky the memorial he deserves to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. We’re asking for donations to help arrange Ricky’s Funeral whether it’s big or small, we are grateful for anything. His family is currently planning a funeral and vigil at this time with more info to come on the details.
