On January 25, 2025, tragedy struck our community in Jackson, TN, when 15-year-old Makyla Perry’s life was senselessly taken. At approximately 12:40 PM, the Jackson Police Department responded to a devastating shooting incident in the 100 block of Hardee Street, where Makyla was fatally injured.

Makyla was a bright, kind-hearted teenager with so much life ahead of her. She brought joy to everyone who knew her and had dreams that will now remain unfulfilled. This tragic loss has left her family and friends heartbroken and struggling to cope with the unimaginable pain of losing her so soon.
