Help Us Honor Yvette Neely Hunt's Memory
Donation protected
As most of you know, my siblings and I recently lost not only our mother, but our best friend. About six weeks ago, we found out that she likely had cancer. Three weeks ago we learned that it was stage 3 lung cancer. We were told it was non-curable, but with treatment, she could have a few more years. She had her first chemo treatment on Monday, October 28th, but the cancer had already spread to her liver and it could not handle the chemo. By Wednesday, her liver began failing. On Thursday, her oncologist instructed me to call the family in as there was nothing more they could do. On Friday, November 1st, we moved her from St. Thomas West to an Alive Hospise center a few miles away, where she passed at around 8:30 pm that night. While we knew that her diagnosis was terminal, we could have never imagined she would be gone this soon. She had a $10,000 life insurance policy that did not even cover the cost of her funeral. Her brothers graciously paid the rest for us. I know multiple people have reached out, offering help, and this is really what we need help with. Any donations will go directly to the cost of her headstone. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for every comment, message, text, etc. that has been sent. I have found so much comfort in seeing all of the people who's lives she touched. I hope to be able to thank each of you personally when my world stops "spinning" for a moment.
