Help Us Keep Our Business & Our 3 Little Children in the UK

I never thought I'd do this.

For the past six years, I’ve been building a life here in the UK, ever since I arrived in 2018 to pursue my studies. During this time, I’ve done everything I could to contribute positively to the community—working in COVID wards during the pandemic, supporting elderly patients, and applying my skills as a business analyst. I’ve also earned two master’s degrees in the process, which was a significant financial investment as an international student.

In August 2023, we embarked on a new chapter by opening the first African restaurant in Leigh, Greater Manchester, with a business partner. We wanted to bring a new variety of delicious cuisine to the community, and the response was incredibly positive. However, just three weeks after opening, we were devastated when the building we had leased partially collapsed. The council had to shut it down, forcing us to start over.

The months that followed were incredibly difficult. We had invested so much into that restaurant—both financially and emotionally—and the setback was overwhelming. But after some time, we made the decision to try again. In November 2023, we reopened at a new premises on Market Street. Once again, the community showed their incredible support, and we were deeply grateful.

Despite our best efforts, we’re now facing another significant challenge. The financial strain from the building collapse and reopening has taken a toll on me. The debt incurred during this period has been difficult to manage, and it has put a lot of pressure on my family.

With three young children, I’m doing everything I can to ensure their future here in the UK. But now, I find myself in a position where I need to raise £25,620 to cover essential expenses, including health insurance for my family, visa application fees, and other critical costs.

As someone who has always tried to stand on my own, it’s not easy for me to ask for help. But with only 14 days left to secure the necessary funds, I’ve come to realize that I can’t do this alone.

Over the years, I’ve tried to give back to the community in every way possible—offering hot meals to rough sleepers during the cold winter months, supporting struggling families with food donations, and more. And I promise to continue paying this kindness forward.
