Help us keep our etching press.

We need urgent help to keep our etching press!
Laneway Print Studio is a new printmaking collective located on Payneham Road, St. Peters. Close to downtown Adelaide, our studio is home to a vibrant group of emerging, mid career and established artists. We run regular workshops and our artists’ work can be viewed on social media and in person at the studio in upcoming exhibitions during SALA ( Aug 2023).
Printmakers need big and often expensive equipment and it is common for artists to join collectives to share equipment and facilities. It proves cost prohibitive as an individual to buy a press and finding an affordable second hand press is very rare. We have been lucky enough to find a large second hand press. A brand new press of this size would cost in excess of $16,000!
Presses are beautiful pieces of finely engineered machinery and are a part of the continuing history of making art and in particular, multiples. Laneway Print Studios is part of a world wide endeavour to keep the traditional art of printmaking alive while at the same time experimenting with new processes that are emerging.
Our press cost $5000. We have paid half and need to raise the final $2500 by March 2023 in order to keep our press.
If you can help us raise the remaining $2500 we will be able to continue sharing our knowledge of printmaking to South Australian artists and beyond.
DONATIONS ( and gift )
Any amount you can donate will be gratefully received. For those who donate $20 or more, we will send you an original postcard sized print made by our artists especially to thank you. Prints will begin being dispatched from February 24th.
We encourage local businesses to support our venture and in return a special mention will be made on our website.
Your donation will help us keep our press and therefore, be a part of the continuing growth of printmaking in South Australia.
