My name is Gillian Booth and I am the founder of Gemini Voices Co (GVC), a new performing arts organization located in Philadelphia, PA. As a lover of both musical theater and opera, I dreamt of creating an organization that provides local performing artists the opportunity to demonstrate the versatility of the human singing voice. GVC's goal is to produce multi-faceted, small-scale performances that combine the repertoire from both musical theater and classical canons. However, I need your help to make this dream a reality.
Our first production will be Jason Robert Brown's The Last 5 Years. The musical explores a 5 year relationship between characters Jaime and Cathy- from meeting to marriage to break-up and everything in between. Featuring a stunning score and themes of love, ambition, time, and loss, The Last 5 Years is a testament to modern heartbreak.
Starting in late 2020, we are producing a monthly virtual concert series. These online concerts are performed remotely and streamed for free for the public. In this series, we hope to showcase a variety of different singing styles, including but not limited to musical theatre, classical, pop, jazz, singer-songwriter, country, R&B, and rock. Our organization is entirely volunteer-based, and any donations that we receive from performances are split evenly among the singers.
As a new organization, we need funds to produce our first season. As a donor, your support is crucial to our growth and expansion. No donation is too big or too small. Any support is deeply appreciated.
