Defend our Sanctuary City

Thank you for donating to South Brooklyn Sanctuary! We are a grassroots nonprofit that trains volunteers to support recently arrived immigrants in New York City who cannot afford attorneys. Since 2023 we have supported more than 3,000 immigrants with "Know Your Rights" information, attorney referrals, and assistance with essential legal paperwork like work permits and asylum applications. We serve immigrants throughout the five boroughs.

Why is our work essential? There is no right to representation in immigration court, private attorneys are prohibitively expensive, and many nonprofits have closed their waiting lists. Nearly 60% of immigrants are fighting their cases alone, without an attorney.

Our work is all the more urgent in the face of Trump's second term as president. We will continue to empower the community with anti-deportation and family separation education and continue to help immigrants get on the pathway to citizenship.
