Honouring our Son, James Hallam – A Loving Father, Brother & Friend
On early hours Monday, 27th January 2025, our beloved son James Hallam passed away suddenly in his sleep alone at just 46 years old. Our hearts are broken beyond words. James was not only our son but a devoted father, a loving brother, and a dear friend to so many. His passing has left an unbearable void, especially for his three beautiful children – Joshua (9), Eva-Lee (10), and Mia (15) – who now face life without their dad.
As parents, we want to give James the burial he deserves, rather than a cremation. We want his children to have a special place to visit him, to remember him, and to feel close to him in the years ahead. However, a burial is much more expensive, and we are struggling to raise the full amount.
We will be selling James’ van, which should raise around £3,000, but we still need at least £8,000 to cover the full funeral costs.
James’ Struggles & Selflessness
Looking back, we now realise how much James had been silently battling with his health. He had ongoing heart issues and other medical conditions that led to him being rushed into hospital many times. But no matter how much he struggled, James always put his children before himself.
He hated being off work, not because of pride, but because he feared he wouldn’t be able to provide for his kids. Even when doctors told him to rest and take care of his health, he pushed through his pain, exhaustion, and struggles—because his children meant everything to him.
James worked tirelessly as a floor layer, doing everything in his power to make sure his kids never went without. It breaks our hearts knowing he sacrificed his own well-being for the people he loved.
How You Can Help
If you are able to donate, share, or support in any way, we would be forever grateful. Every single contribution, no matter how small, will help us lay our son to rest in the way he deserves.
Any additional funds raised beyond the funeral costs will go directly into savings accounts for Joshua, Eva-Lee, and Mia, to support them as they grow up without their dad.
James was deeply loved, and his loss is something we will never fully come to terms with. Please help us give him a proper farewell and provide some financial security for his children’s future.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support during this heartbreaking time.
With love,
James’ Parents (Kate, Dave) & Family
