Help Emma Stay in the US!

Hello loved ones!

As some of you know, I recently had the honor of marrying my soulmate Emma Madden, who happens to be British. For the past few years, we've had to split our time between the US and England, only able to stay together for a few months at a time before being separated again because of visa laws. We could have at any point decided that the 5,000-mile distance was too far, the flights too expensive, and the bouts of separation too difficult -- but finding each other has made a world that can be cold and isolating seem small and traversable, the warmth of connection hiding all around us in plain sight. We both believe that with great effort often comes great reward, and having both lived through tragedies that seemed world-ending, we felt we had nothing to lose. We thought we might as well go to the ends of the earth to seek joy and love. So we did, and we found it.

Emma and I are married now, and we're finally able to stay together indefinitely! We're currently working on Emma's path to citizenship so that we can continue to do so. This is a long, tedious process, and it's also very expensive. When we eloped in October 2023, we never set up a wedding registry or asked for any help setting up our lives as newlyweds - so we're doing that now! In lieu of wedding gifts, we're asking for help to pay for the hefty legal fees associated with citizenship.

Anything helps, and we deeply appreciate the love and support we've received from our loved ones. Our love doesn't stop with each other, but expands constantly, enveloping our friends, communities, and the world at large. We promise to always keep paying forward the kindness we’ve been shown.
