Help us mentor a refugee family of three!

Please help us furnish the apartment of a refugee family in the US!
We are Amnesty International East Bay, Group 612 - a group of community members who have committed to mentoring a refugee family of three for six months to help them resettle here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mentoring means welcoming them to our community, and helping them learn things like how to navigate public transit and grocery stores. We will help them adjust with some of the social parts of life.
The family is expected within the NEXT TWO WEEKS, so we are trying to raise this money as quickly as possible. The funds from this crowdfunding page will serve to supply some necessities for this family of three to help ease their transition to their new home. We are providing things like basic furniture (beds, kitchen table, chairs, etc) as well as kitchen staples (pots, pans, utensils, dishes) and other required items - like a car seat for the child.
This activity is part of a pilot partnership between Amnesty International and the International Rescue Committee, and we are one of the first of Amnesty International's local groups to try this out. Please support our efforts to welcome refugees to the Bay Area and America!
