Help Us Move Back to Grand Rapids

Hi there,

My name is Brianna, my family and I (5 people total including a 6 year old, a 3 year old and a 4 month old) are seeking help to move back to Grand Rapids. This help would include first month's rent, security deposit and moving costs

In June of this year, we moved from Grand Rapids to Flushing, MI getting our children out of a neglectful home situation with their biological mother. My family and I moved into the home of my fiancee's mother, who gave us promises of a safe home for us and our children. Fast forward to July and his mother started becoming volatile towards him and I. Every other week was a verbal fight, with the weeks in between being ignored or verbally ridiculed. Then on Saturday August 27th, 2022, we had enough. His mother started yet another fight and this time told us that we needed to find another place to live. We've been looking into different options, both calling and emailing different agencies, but as of today, September 2nd, we haven't heard anything back from them. August 31st, she came home after work and ridiculed my fiancee yet again, telling us we couldn't use the air conditioning (with three small children in the house) because we weren't paying the bills. She told him to pack us up and move out. That night she forced her way into our bedroom and refused to get out, only doing so after police arrived. September 2nd, she pushed an eviction notice under our bedroom door, the notice stating we had only 29 days to vacate the premises, we are losing our housing and need to vacate by October 1st or the landlord will take us to court.

We have three small children, a 6 year old son, a 3 year old son and a 4 month old daughter. We aren't going to raise them in a manipulative home, it's not fair to them after everything they've already been through.

We have made the decision to come back to Grand Rapids, however have no idea when we'll be able to do so, hence this gofundme.

We are asking for $3,000, which will cover first month's rent, security deposit and moving expenses, anything left over will be going towards necessities for our children to begin again in a new environment.

We aren't trying to gain sympathy or anything, we're just really at a loss for what we can do and how we can escape this situation.
