Help us open the curtain on "Brilliance!"

Hi,
We're opening a brand new musical called "Brilliance," based on the life of Frances Farmer, in an off-Broadway residency at The Players Theatre in NYC! We've already produced a Zoom reading of the show back in June of 2021, but this will be the very first time the whole thing is on its feet in a major production at a historical New York theatre.

We have an incredible cast and crew and we open on April 7th 2022 at 7pm. Then we run Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7pm, and Sunday matinees at 3pm for the next three weeks. We close on April 24th 2022.

Frances Farmer was a movie star in the 1930s and 40s who was involuntarily committed to an Insane Asylum by her mother, Lillian Farmer. Frances adored her mother and the industry she was a major part of, but once she started doing movies she realized that her heart was longing to perform onstage, but when she tried to shift from the silver screen to the theatre she was attacked by both her fellow thespians and her fellow movie stars.
Amidst her heartbreak, she turned to drugs and alcohol and that only made matters worse.

This musical takes a long hard look at the mental health industry and what we've all come to count on as sane, reasonable behavior... in stark contrast to utter madness! What is normal? Who is strong willed and who is mentally unstable, and how does one tell the difference? Conservatorships are the current version of commitment in our modern day world and one might reasonably ask, is it really that much better now that it was? Of course we all know the TV and movie stars who are suffering through these situations - Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Amanda Bynes... but how many people realize that 1.3 million Americans are suffering in conservatorships even as we speak! In October of 2021 the industry declared a crisis in children mental health. Needless to say, a world-wide pandemic is hardly helping matters! The time for this musical is now!
