Help us pay rent & late fees

Donation protected
We have been living/renting our home for what will be 3 years in January, and every year we have had to have roommates. Well this year after getting a friend to move up from Florida, we had one availability left we wanted to fill in our Mother-in-law suite-esq basement.

We found a gentleman in a local facebook group, our fault I know, and had him submit for the landlords background check and get together the deposit required. He signed the lease, agreed to a verbal sit down with all 4 of the people in the house, including myself, where we discussed simple things like taking shoes off and letting us know when random people are coming over, especially during a pandemic and my husband is a risk, very fair normal things you speak of with roommates and sharing a home.

After one single month we ran into multiple issues with the guy, from sneaking in his gf and 6 year old kid, to screaming at me while I had a client over for a photo session to talking loudly and slandering us, which we also recorded on video. After threats and a few scares to the point I kept myself in my bedroom day and night, I called our local sheriff inquiring what to do. The sheriff's office then sent a few officers to speak with the roommate and just tell him to leave us alone until, what the roommate verbatim agreed, he left on August 30th. HOWEVER that did not happen, not even 2 days later the roommate packed his things and left with no notification whatsoever. I had guests over that saw and told me immediately that he was filling a car with his items.

Now it is September 1st, we were unable to cover his portion that he did not submit, even though he is on the lease, and our landlord wants his portion and late fee. We even notified the landlord ahead of time of the issues with said roommate and he proceeded to laugh at us and tell us he just wanted his money and did not care what happens beside that.

He has now given us until the end of this month so come up with the ex-roommate still on the lease's portion as well as scrambling to make our own rent now that it went from a split with 4 to 3 until we can find a new, safer and actually known, roommate.

We need 1500$ to cover his portion and late fees but any extra would greatly help us cover our, now larger portion, as we are coming out of unemployment into new jobs that start this month.
