help us produce “Full Day Suspension"

Hello! We are Suspension Theatrical Arts, a recently formed production company based out of Millvale PA. We introduced ourselves last summer with our first event, “A Catastrophic Cabaret”. Since then, We have been granted fiscal sponsorship by New Sun Rising, and are well on our way to a successful and exciting first season of production. We are raising funds for “Full Day Suspension, a 24 hour theater festival”. Over the course of 24 hours, a team of playwrights, actors, and directors will create, rehearse and perform up to 10 new short plays. This production will be our first as a fiscally sponsored project. We hope to use it to raise funds and build our community, but in order to do so, we need your help.

This event, Full Day Suspension, will be a community centric event, building our circle of collaborators. It will also be the first iteration of our goal of fostering new works. The participants in the festival will receive instruction and guidance from the festival’s playwright in residence, TJ Young (https://www.tj-young.com/), and director in residence, Connor McCanlus (@McCanlus on twitter and insta). It will take place at Mr. Smalls Theater, which has long been a destination for live music for the city of Pittsburgh. We want this to be the first in a repeating series of Full Day Suspension events.. Through this event, our participants will gain vital experience working with industry professionals. We believe in the power of spontaneous creativity, and that when that creativity is properly directed and harnessed, the results can be truly spectacular.

The funds will be used to pay our festival staff, cover venue costs, and purchase prop and costume assets if needed. Any funds raised in excess of these requirements will be used to fund our next production, to take place mid July. Since we are fiscally sponsored by New Sun Rising, any donations received will be tax deductible. All donors will receive a thank you in the event program. Donors who contribute over $40 will receive one free ticket to the event. Donors who give over $100 will receive two complimentary tickets
