Support 999 workers mental health through music!
The Blue Light Symphony Orchestra is a unique organisation. We are the only orchestra in the UK that draws its players from all of the emergency services. We bring together first responders with a love of music to play together to improve their mental well-being. The combination of music and shared traumatic experiences leads to an exceptional experience for all involved.
The charity was set up by Seb Valentine, himself a serving Detective with Surrey Police and a graduate of the Royal College of Music. He is passionate about the power of music to improve mental health. The charity is also supported by Matthew Slater, a composer for TV and film, who is on the board of trustees. His most recent work has been on the Endeavour TV series.
As well as the orchestra, we also encourage music-making on a local level in the blue light services and are working hard to make Music Therapy available as an option to treat PTSD, stress and anxiety which is a growing issue among first responders.
Your donation will help provide music therapy to blue light workers which will improve their quality of life and keep the doing the job they love.
