Help us raise funds for Cairo’s medical expenses
Donation protected
UPDATE:
Cairo is finally home!
Today, 1/21/23, a week after the attack, Cairo was able to come back home. We can't thank enough each and everyone who supported us during this horrible week. We believe that since Cairo has improved so well since Tuesday when the doctors believed she was going to need to be in ICU for up to 2 more weeks, we have enough funds to cover her recovery. Any remaining funds will be DONATED to the Dovelewis Velvet Assistance fund.
If you made it to this page with the intention of helping and supporting us, please consider supporting these other families that are waiting for hope and support like the one we will forever be grateful for. https://www.gofundme.com/discover/animal-fundraiser
I was also connected by the organizer of this GoFundMe https://gofund.me/38ef4ed1 and we made a donation in Cairo's name. Please consider donating to them if you can.
We will keep posting here copies of the receipts and her progress as well as on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/cairo.and.lenca/.
Love always!

Dan and the girls got viciously attacked last night while taking a walk. A 70-80 pounds dog lashed onto Cairo viciously and ripped her neck open.
Cairo has extensive trauma. She has cervical degloving from her ear all the way to her chest. She is in ICU and will need to be there for 3-4 days. She needs surgery, but she needs to be stable enough to undergo it. Each day in ICU cost $2400. The doctors say it will be a long recovery (about six months) With weekly visits to the clinic. We are already at over 7k dollars on expenses and it hasn't been 24 hours since the incident.
The doctor says she is stable considering everything she has been thru and is hopeful that she can have surgery on Tuesday as her vitals are stable.
For many Cairo might be just a dog, but for us, she is part of our family. She is our baby. Cairo is the sweetest dog and doesn't deserve to be in this pain and situation. We are doing whatever we can to provide her with what she needs and we are asking for help to keep being able to do so.
Thank you so much.
