Help us raise funds for our adoption

Hello! We are Bethany Meyer and Phillip Brandvold, and we've begun our journey to expand our family through infant adoption.

We value community and know it takes a village to raise a child. The uniqueness of adoption puts an extra emphasis on community; for the child, birth parents, expectant parents, and every family member surrounding each of them. This is not something we can or desire to do alone, and we’d like to invite you to join us on this journey!

Another great way to support us is financially.

We started this GoFundMe because one of the biggest hurdles in adoption is the amount of money required at various points throughout the process. While we are blessed to have stable jobs and income, and a beautiful home into which we are ready to welcome a child, adoption requires large sums of money to be paid at specific times in order to keep the process moving forward.

It can take a minimum of $25,000-$30,000 for fees related to background checks, home studies, legal fees, and services offered by the adoption agency.

This doesn’t include supplies for the baby- formula, diapers, crib, stroller, car seat, etc - all of which will need to be ready to go at a moment’s notice. There could also be additional expenses above and beyond, such as travel if we receive an out-of-state placement or medical expenses for the birth mother.

As you can imagine, needing to have that amount of money on hand for all the expenses is a big undertaking. While we have saved for this, and continue to do so, it can take a long time to have enough on our own, and we don’t want to wait any longer to open our home to a child.
