6th Cleethorpes Scouts. Roof fundraiser.

Hello everyone!

You will have noticed that we have upped our fundraising efforts here at 6th Cleethorpes (Christ Church) Scout Group recently.

Some of it is to help us recover from the pandemic and continue to offer excellent activities for the young people in our group.

But we have a NEW and URGENT problem and we need your help!

The roof of our equipment store has failed.

It is made of asbestos and needs to be completely and professionally made safe, removed and replaced with a new roof so we can continue to use it.

It is currently not safe for anyone to enter the store AT ALL after taking professional advice.

Some of our kit is inside and anything made of porous materials will need to be safely and professionally disposed of and replaced.

All non porous kit will need to be professionally removed, cleaned and salvaged if it can be and made safe.

We think the cost of the work, after quotes, to make the store safe and usable and after replacement of equipment is going to cost around £6000.

We have started this gofundme to get the word out to as many people as possible to try and help us raise this money.

The leaders and committee at the group are all volunteers and will co-ordinating fundraising efforts in their own time. The group receives no centralised funding from anywhere.

We are looking at all avenues, including any help we might get from our insurers and other funding sources... but we need to raise this money AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
