Earthen Project LA
Donation protected
We are The Earthen Project. A local group of artists, architects, and builders joining our extended communities in response to the recent fires. Our mission is to design and help implement a more sustainable earthen home solution for those who lost their homes in the recent Los Angeles fires and future generations to come.
Our goal is to get a pre-approved permit for a dwelling that incorporates local earthen material, respects native landscapes, and prioritizes sustainable practices for public adaptation with in the Los Angeles area. This will greatly decrease the cost & time for future plan checks and construction approval within the cities of Los Angeles and Altadena.
These plans will be made available to the public on a free and donation-based basis.
PHASE 1:
This will cover:
Beginning of research, development, and testing of fire resistant materials & construction methods
Educational workshops that will be donation-based, bilingual & open to the public
Materials, tools, transportation, documentation, administrative fees, and any unforeseen costs during the community, research and development process.
Restoring alone is not enough. Let us rebuild a more resilient future in harmony with the land.
