Help Us Rebuild atomic

**update 10.45am 9/29 - Thank you so much for the support. We are continuing to evaluate and as we assess, we've decided to raise our goal to reflect what we know will be a long road ahead for ourselves and our community. While we still can only access the shop by foot, and candidly, it's hard to think about next steps for our business, we are physically safe and we have a 4 wheel drive vehicle that we can put to use in helping our neighbors.
A donation of $35 helps cover a tank of gas; we're using Todd's navigation skills to get close to Greenville SC, where we'll be able to fill the tank, load up on water and other supplies and then head back to Asheville.
Friends in Atlanta, Chris and Sarah Neely, are helping to keep this site updated as we have only occasional access to cell service. Thank you for your positivity and support - we are hanging on to your words to keep us going!
We write this letter to you with deep sadness for our Atomic and Asheville community.
During the storm, like many others, 6 large trees fell down on our home property in Burnsville, so it took us hours to get out to check on our store in town. By the time we got to town yesterday afternoon, the river had gotten up to the Lowe’s roof, where we would normally turn to our store. I had left my car in that parking lot the night before because I didn’t want to drive home in the pouring rain without Todd.
We came back today and Todd was able to walk down to our shop. We can’t believe the utter devastation. Everything we have worked so hard for is gone along with our precious vendor items. Before all of this, we were in the process of shopping for new insurance coverage since our current one does not cover water damage, so we will likely not get any assistance with this.
We, like many others, have been without power. I write this to you from the one spot I have found service in Asheville.
We are completely devastated and truly have no idea how we will come back from this, but we are going to try. Todd and I have worked so hard these last couple of months, sourcing and fixing up amazing products, and the store was looking so good in preparation for our 10-year party that was supposed to happen this coming Friday. Our hearts are broken for anyone that had a home or business along the river. We ask for your patience, thoughts, and prayers while we navigate how to rebuild from this.
It is very hard for us to ask for any kind of help, but we honestly just don’t know how to recover from this. Any help you can provide is so greatly appreciated ❤️
