Help us rebuild our dream lost in the wild fire in Portugal

My name is Lea. I have been fortunate to grow up at Quinta Bamboo, a beautiful piece of land in Central Portugal where, together with my family, we have created a place that has been offered as a retreat for people from all over the world.

On the 17th of September we've been fighting against the flames ourselves together with the local community due to the lack of firefighters.

The forest fire destroyed not only part of the nature we have cherished during 30 years but also two sheds, our caravan plus a shower and a wc attached to it with all the water, electricity system, many building materials and agricultural machinery.

The caravan was my home for years which, together with my partner, we then converted into a studio for our handmade jewellery and upcycled clothing project.

This business was until 2 days ago our main income source but most importantly a dream we have worked on with all our energy and passion for 5 years.

Since we have lost all the stock, materials, machines, tools, precious stones and metals, currently it's impossible to keep working and getting any income from this project.

Besides this, several olive trees (all over 100 years old) have burned down which will also affect us financially since we used to make biological olive oil to sell every year.

Although words will never be enough to describe the grief we are feeling and money will never be able to replace anything with a sentimental value, with your help, we will be able to start again from scratch this dream we have been working on so hard.
