Help Us Rebuild Our Family Kitchen After Mold & Water Damage

Hello friends, family, and kind strangers,

We are the Beaty Family and we are reaching out with humble hearts, asking for your support as we face an unexpected and overwhelming challenge. Did you know many insurances have exemptions for slow leaks and mold exclusions? Yeah, we didn't know either! :(

We are a blended family of five—working hard to build a stable, loving home—but a devastating discovery in our kitchen has thrown us into a difficult situation.

Our family is made up of:

❤️ My spouse who is currently in school, training to become a mental health and addiction counselor to help others through their darkest times.

❤️ Myself, Raya who works for a local nonprofit library, ensuring that everyone in our community has equal access to materials and resources for lifelong learning.

❤️ Our amazing kids—a curious and growing 7-month-old, an energetic and playful 4-year-old, and my thoughtful stepson, an 11-year-old navigating the ups and downs of adolescence.

Our kitchen has always been the heart of our home. Despite our complicated relationships with food and cooking, it’s where we’ve shared laughter over messy baking sessions, celebrated birthdays, and come together after long days. It’s where our family bonds have grown the strongest.

But now our kitchen is gone.

It all started when we pulled out the dishwasher and discovered mold and water damage. As we dug deeper, we uncovered a heartbreaking truth—the damage wasn’t new. The previous owners had covered up evidence of an old leak in the exact same spot. The lower cabinets were hiding mold and rotted wood, and the subfloor was compromised beyond repair.

We had no choice but to completely gut the space to handle mold remediation and ensure our home is safe for our children. But now we’re left with an empty shell of a kitchen—and the costs to rebuild are high.

We’ve already faced a lot financially. Between raising three kids, covering school expenses, and managing everyday costs, we’re stretched thin. We simply don’t have the resources and time to do everything.

We need your help to restore the heart of our home.
