Help us rebuild our lives after losing our home

Hello, My name is Jay and on December 16, 2022, my family lost their home. I am raising money to help my family start a new life without my abusive father. He allowed the house to go into foreclosure and knew the eviction was coming for an entire year, but he did not share the information with any of us, not even my mom. This is especially hard because I have an older sister with autism who is completely dependent on my mom’s care. He would forbid us from checking the mail, and had a terrible temper. He would not allow my mom to be involved in any of the finances, and I’ve seen him physically hurt my mom, and my sister. He would swear at us, and kept our home in deplorable conditions like allowing black mold to grow in the entire basement, no heat, no hot water, and no washing machine. He has an MBA from Wharton but has not had a stable job, and instead took money that me and my brother earned from working at the gas station and fast food. He would not cooperate with my mom to help with the care of my sister and refused to get my mom a hearing aid, so my mom could not work. We also learned that he had accounts on adult websites and Ashley Madison, and we are devastated that money may have been spent there instead of taking care of us.

None of this money will go directly toward me, it will go to help my mother with legal fees and to take care of my sisters. Since they only had an hour to leave their home of 22 years, my mom and my sisters lost pretty much everything and are starting over. This is very hard on my autistic sister who has been unable to regularly attend her adult day program. She is what inspired me to be a special education major at Towson University.(picture above is of me and her) My mom is working hard to rebuild her life and be there for us. She is looking for a job, but it likely won’t be enough. Any amount that you can give will be appreciated. No amount is too small. We appreciate your time.
