Help Us
Hello, my name is Haneen Alghussein. I’m 24 years old, and this is the story of my family and the unimaginable pain we’ve endured.
I used to have two sisters—Shireen, 27, a passionate translator, and Abeer, 25, a talented voiceover artist working as a freelancer. I also have a brother, Ezzeldeen, 26, who works in the field of electricity. He is married to Fadda, a 23-year-old law student, and they have a beautiful daughter named Logain, who is just a year and a half old.
I was pursuing my degree in Business Administration and had the opportunity to study in Spain for a semester through the Erasmus scholarship. When I returned to Gaza, I was working hard to complete my final year at university.
Our lives were full of dreams, purpose, and love. We lived in a big, colorful house surrounded by trees—a home filled with laughter and warmth.
But everything changed in an instant.
When the war started, our home was completely destroyed by rockets from the occupation forces. We lost everything. Our garden became rubble. We were forced to live in tents on the streets, without shelter, food, or safety.
And the greatest tragedy of all—my sister Shireen was merteryed in front of my eyes. She was taken from us in the most brutal and merciless way. That moment haunts me every day.
My father and my brother were both injured in the attacks. Their wounds still need urgent medical treatment, but we have no access to proper healthcare. They are in pain, struggling not just physically but emotionally too.
Now, we are left with nothing. My brother is unemployed and trying to care for his injured body while supporting his wife and child. My parents are sick and exhausted from the harsh living conditions.
We are in desperate need of food, clean water, medicine, and a safe place to stay. More than anything, we need hope—the chance to rebuild even a small part of the life we lost.
We live in fear every day, with no guarantee of tomorrow. We are surrounded by destruction, and my dream of graduating from university feels more distant than ever.
Please, if you can, help us survive. Help us heal. Help us stand again.
Every donation, every share, every kind thought matters more than you can imagine.
Thank you from the depths of my heart
