Help Us Rebuild Our Lives. Our House in Cali Burned Down.
Donation protected
Hi Friends,
I can't believe I am starting a GoFundMe for our family. Yesterday my little family (Me, my 3 yr old daughter, Vivia, and my doggie Sky) lost our beautiful home in Altadena, California to the Eaton Canyon Fire and my dance studio is currently under mandatory evacuation orders. The studio not burning is crucial for us right now.
We are so incredibly grateful to be safe and by the outpouring of love and support from friends and family all over the world. I am someone who is very uncomfortable receiving from people when I can't give back in return, so creating this fund feels so awful and even embarrassing; but we literally have about 3 pairs of clothes each, two pairs of underwear, 1 pair of socks, my childhood photo albums, our legal documents and pretty much NOTHING else anymore. It’s utterly unfathomable! I’m terrified, broken and in deep grief and pain, but even amidst this darkness, I can feel the light and all of your love lifting us up and holding us in this moment. This is my moment to have a breakthrough in learning to receive from others. To know that I am worthy and loved just as I am without having to over-function in doing or giving back. I also know that my daughter and I are resilient. I took her to a playground just hours after I told her our house is gone. She made a new friend there and was laughing and playing. She is teaching me in this moment that it will be ok and we will be ok no matter what. We will experience many more joyful moments in our future. We are beyond blessed, even in this devastating moment.
If you are able to give to us in this moment and share the link, (any amount will help), and/or share this on your social media, we will be beyond grateful! Any extra funds that come in that we may not need for any reason, I will be donating to my neighbors who have also almost all lost their homes, (but are all safe). Thank you from the deepest place in my heart. This will be a long journey to rebuild our lives and community, but we will. Sending love, strength and healing to everyone affected. Stay safe and hug your loved ones.
