Help us rebuild their home & business
Donation protected
My name is Emma and I am raising funds for my wonderful family who've lost everything in the recent 2022 flooding in Ipswich.
Absolute devastation - three times over
1994, 2011 and 2022. Our family has had to start new, after losing everything for the third time in their lifetimes. At the time of the floods, there were 5 people living in this house, ages ranging from 6 to 51.
Insurance; unaffordable
Since the horrific 2011 flooding events, Insurance companies made it impossible for my family to insure their home and business - with premiums exorbitant and beyond reach on an annual basis. Our hearts are aching.
Not only their home, but their business too.
The business quickly became inundated, lying lowest on the property. We tried our best to battle the water, but you can only get so much out before it's too late. Thousands of dollars of auto-mechanic tools and equipment are destroyed including the shed it was all once housed in. As a result, they are out of work and left with no income.
Like many others, the past years have been a struggle. Last March, my aunt was involved in a car accident which has left her with permanent damage in her hand, and as a result has been medically barred from driving, leaving her out of a job also.
Repair, rebuild and recover.
We are ready to jump in and get our hands dirty, but we desperately need help. The cost to rebuild their home and business is estimated at over $175,000. Not including all the tools and equipment needed to get back to business.
We are hoping to raise enough funds to rebuild their home and place of business again so they have a roof over their heads and a way to earn an income. Every cent will help them slowly rebuild.
All help is appreciated. Our contact details for the donation of goods or assistance are Jessica Fletcher 0490 943 006.
