Help us recover from Historic Ft Lauderdale Flood

Hi, I'm Elijah from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I've lived here all my life and call this place home. The City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida saw a historic and massive flood as a result of a rain storm that was a once-in-a-thousand years occurrence. As a result, thousands of families have lost their homes, vehicles and properties. My family is one of those. Living in a predominately black neighborhood, we are used to flooding when it rains but it has never been this bad. We experienced more than 20'' of rain in my neighborhood, and most of our belongings have been covered in water and destroyed, including papers, pictures, clothes, furniture, and memories we hold close. The water from the flooding has damaged the interior of our home, has gotten into the walls, and now our home is uninhabitable. The cost of moving is very prohibitive, but with your help, my family can move to a new home and restart our lives.
